About Us
Friends
and family went on and on for years about this wonderful
toffee…what a great business it would make….it’s the
best they’ve ever had….BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Well, that’s
everybody’s story. Here’s ours.
We both happened to be on a business trip with our
husbands in Philadelphia when we met in a taxi heading
to Independence Hall. We quickly became friends when
we somehow got on the subject of chocolate. We both
loved chocolate. What are the chances of that?

En
route to our destination, our mysterious cab driver
let us in on a little secret. He was convinced that
somewhere hidden in the museum was the original copy
of the Declaration of Independence that John Hancock
had forgotten to sign. We got out of the cab thinking
“Who cares. Where can we get some chocolate around
here?’
Once inside the museum, while the tour guide went on
and on about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,
we ventured off in search of a vending machine. While
savoring our candy bars, we noticed a loose brick in
the wall. We removed
the brick and found an old rolled up document inside.
It was just what the driver suspected, but there was
more! On the back of the old parchment was his ancestor’s
secret recipe… the original Ye Olde Craved English
Toffee.
And
now it was ours. We put the worthless declaration document
back in the wall and replaced the brick. But we kept
the recipe. We decided right then and there to share
it with the world under the name “The Latest
Crave”.
That fateful day would lead us to a future filled with
butter, sugar, and of course, chocolate.
That’s our story. |
